The picture shows a man leading two burros laden with merchandise. A tree frames the scene on either side. Above the burros is the Virgin of San Juan de los Lagos. The prayer is along the bottom of the picture. The text says (with misspellings):
Le doy gracias a la Virgen de San Juan de los Lagos porque me hizo el milagro de que mi cosecha fuera buena y por eso pude comprar mis burritos para llebar mi mercancia a vender al mercado y en agradecimiento le dedico el presente. Juvencio Mendez P. Chinconcuac Edo. de Mexico. 1937.
(I give thanks to the Virgin of San Juan de los Lagos because she made a miracle for me in that my harvest was good and, for that reason, I was able two buy my little burros and to carry my merchandise to sell in the market.
